Evelyn M. Jones, M.D., FABD, FAAD
30 Years In Practice
Dr. Evelyn Jones, a board-certified dermatologist, continues to raise the bar for dermatology in the state of Kentucky and even around the country, shining as one of the leaders in the field. Since beginning her practice in her hometown of Paducah, Ky., in 1993, her dermatology practice and skin care business thrives in providing a culture that allows the entire staff to touch and change lives.
With deep roots in the community and the daughter of well-respected Dr. Wally Montgomery and Mayor Gerry Montgomery, she knew the medical field was her calling.
Dr. Jones is a natural encourager who truly loves people. Having overcome personal battles of health and heartache, she innately sees and hears people amid curiosity of others and their stories.
She graduated Valedictorian of Paducah Tilghman High School before branching out and pushing herself to graduate Summa Cum Laude with B. S. in Biology and Chemistry from Georgetown College. She received her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine with honors in Alpha Omega Alpha, Gross Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Embryology, Pediatrics and Clinical Dermatology. Her medical internship and dermatology residency were completed at the University of Louisville Affiliated Hospitals.
In founding WellSprings, she’s taken her vocation a step further, to empower everyone to improve their total health – body, mind and spirit. This mission not only shines in her local practice, but also on a national level. She has conducted several research studies in the field of dermatology, which has allowed her to stay on the cutting edge in creating her own line of medical-grade products. She’s also a sought-after advocate of ‘safe’ skin care and female empowerment, speaking and writing about multiple facets of dermatology, as well as spiritual and physical wellness, to educate on the importance of healthy skin, skin care products and healthy living all across the United States.
Dr. Jones is married to Dr. Shawn Jones, a practicing Otolaryngologist, with three adult children, a daughter-in-law and son-in-law as well as a precious grandson.

LACY B. BOYD, MSM, PA-C

Lacy Boyd is a board-certified physician assistant who has been practicing since 2008. Prior to joining Dr. Evelyn Jones at WellSprings Dermatology, Lacy practiced full-time in the emergency department of Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.
Born and raised in Paducah, Kentucky, Lacy graduated from Lone Oak High School. Lacy’s interest in medicine was sparked at a very young age and grew under the influence of her mother, Dr. Mitzi Richardson, long time Paducah veterinarian. While Lacy has a love for animals as well, her passion and commitment lies in caring for people. Lacy gets to live out that passion daily as she so ably attends to the medical needs of the patients at WellSprings.
Lacy attended Austin Peay State University, graduating with Honors and a bachelor’s degree in Biology. Following graduation, she pursued and successfully completed a Masters in the Science of Medicine in the physician assistant program at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Lacy is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA).
Lacy is married to Michael Boyd and is the proud mother of 4 children.
ASHTON FARMER LAYNE, PA-C

Ashton Farmer Layne is a board-certified physician assistant.
A Paducah native, Ashton graduated from Lone Oak High School, where she was a state champion in women’s tennis. Ashton’s love for Christ-like service and compassion for others grew when she was a junior in high school and was able to take a mission trip to El Salvador through Starfish Orphan Ministry. Since then, she has been on medical mission trips to Cuba and Mexico. You can see her love for others in her care for the patients at WellSprings.
Ashton attended University of Kentucky majoring in Human Health Sciences and graduated from the Lewis Honors College. She was an active member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, serving on the executive board as the Recruitment and Marketing Vice President. Ashton attended Sullivan University (Louisville, Kentucky), and graduated cum laude with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS), and served as the Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants (KAPA) student representative.
Ashton is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), Kentucky Association of Physician Assistants (KAPA), the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA), the University of Kentucky McCracken County Alumni Association and the Sullivan University Alumni Association.
Ashton is married to her husband, Conner Layne, who she met while attending Governor’s Scholars Program, in Murray, Kentucky in 2012.
While Ashton is not practicing dermatology, she loves to spend time with her friends and family, enjoys Kentucky Lake, playing tennis, baking, and cuddling with her goldendoodle, Ollie!


MELINDA GARRET, PA-C

Melinda (Mindy) Garrett has been practicing as a board-certified Physician Assistant since 1999. Prior to working at WellSprings Dermatology, she worked at Paducah Dermatology for ten years. Prior to that, she worked at Primary Care Medical Center in Murray, Kentucky where she focused mainly on Pediatrics and Urgent Care.
Mindy was born and raised in Carlisle County, and she continues to live there with her husband and son. She attended Paducah Community College for two years. From there, she attended and graduated from the University of Kentucky where she obtained a Bachelors Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
Mindy is a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cunningham, KY.
When not at work, Mindy loves to attend her son’s basketball games, spend time with her family and friends, craft, and read. She is also an accomplished knitter who loves to come to work dressed in skirts, sweaters, and dresses that she has knit.
COURTNEY LOWERY

Courtney Lowery is the Practice Manager at WellSprings Institute.
She has been with the practice since April 2017. Prior to joining Dr. Evelyn Jones at WellSprings Dermatology, Courtney worked as a Risk Specialist in the Risk Management department of Baptist Health and spent the previous 16 years in the legal field as a paralegal. Courtney also manages her and her husband’s construction company, bringing extensive knowledge in various areas to further facilitate the day to day effectiveness of WellSprings.
Prior to moving to Paducah in 2004, Courtney was born and raised in Murray, Kentucky. She is a graduate from Calloway County High School, attended Murray State University and Kaplan University, where she graduated with honors from the school of Paralegal Studies.
Her giving heart and leadership skills are evidenced in her service on various boards and committees around the region. Courtney currently is serving as the Philanthropy Advisor for Alpha Omicron Pi. Courtney is married to Jerry Lowery and they have a daughter.
